The permit holder is the only person who can call
in for the inspection date/ time.
All commercial and industrial permits must be purchased
by the plumbing contractor and must be accompanied by a blueprint and an
isometric drawing. The plumbing contractor must also be registered
with the Ohio Department of Health.
Water heaters and water softeners for replacement
do not need prior approval for a permit to be issued.
The permit application will be approved when the Certified Plumbing
Inspector approves the isometric drawing, signs his name, and dates the
plumbing permit. No work can be started until this is done.
The 2010 permit fee is $40.00 plus $12.50 for each fixture.
If any work is started before the permit is issued, then there is a mandatory penalty fee of $50.00 or 25% of the total permit fee, whichever is greater.
There is a
plan review fee. For commercial and industrial permits, the fee is 30% of the permit fee with a minimum fee
of $45.00. For residential, the fee is $25.00.
In order for a plumbing contractor to do work in the
Darke County General Health District, he/she must be registered and have
at the minimum a $20,000 bond.
