The Darke County Health Department is required to have a balanced
set of books each year.
Much of the funding comes from sources that include grants, state subsidy, taxation, and fees for services such as well permits, sewage permits, birth/ death certificates, and immunizations.
Fees are based upon a cost analysis methodology. The fees are reviewed yearly by the Health Commissioner and adjusted appropriately.
Vivian Nieport prepares the vouchers, payroll, banking, grant reports,
end of the year reports, and monthly reports for the Health Department.
She also assists others during immunization clinics, lunches, and vacations.
She bas been with the Health Department since October 1980 and was the
Registrar from 1987-2001.
