Roberta Mangen, RS, MPH., Director of Environmental Health, has worked at the Health Department since 1997.  She is a graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Science, and she is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Masters Degree in Public Health.

Corrie Holthaus, RS,  is a graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health Science. She is primarily involved in the Solid Waste, Infectious Waste, Tattoo, and Nuisance programs. She has been employed with the Health Department since 2003.

Janel Hodges, RS,  is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Foods.  She works with Food Service Operations, food complaints, plan reviews, and vending operations.  She has been employed with the Health Department since 2005.

Sophie O'Connor, RS, is a graduate of Wilmington College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/ Environmental Science.  She is primarily involved in the campground program, sewage inspections, water testing, and mapping of septic systems and wells. Sophie was employed with the Darke County Health Department in 2006 for the 319 Grant Program and was hired on full time in 2008.

Liz Farver, MS, RS, is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science, and she is a graduate of the University of Akron with a Masters Degree in GIS.  She handles the GIS functions and is involved with the household sewage treatment system, swimming pool, and bathing beach programs.  She has been employed with the Health Department since 2008.

Lance Begoon, CPI, attended Lincoln Technical Institute and Tri Village High School.   Previously, he worked as a plumbing foreman overseeing residential and commercial jobs.  He has over eight years of plumbing experience.  At the Health Department, he is involved with plumbing inspections, well tests, and water sampling.  He has been employed with the Department since 2007.

Teresa Plessinger is the environmental division secretary.   Her duties include assisting customers within the office and preparing permits, licenses, and environmental reports.  She has been employed with the Health Department since 2002.

Connie Shiverdecker is the Deputy Registrar.  She has been employed with the Health Department since 2007. She issues birth and death certificates, collects vital statistics, and prepares minutes for the Fatality Review Board. She also assists with other secretarial duties within the environmental division.
