Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH)
Helps eligible families obtain diagnostic and treatment
services for children.
Eligibility Requirements:

Must be under 21 years of age.

Must be an Ohio resident.

Must be under the care of a BCMH approved physician.

Require diagnostic evaluation to rule out certain conditions that
requires further treatment.

Must be financially eligible for BCMH to pay for treatment services.
Program Services may include:

Days in the hospital
-
Hearing Aids
-
Special shoes
-
Lab tests and X-Rays
-
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
-
Special diagnostic tests
-
Surgery and anesthesia
-
Prescription medications
-
Medical equipment and supplies
-
Eyeglasses/ contact lenses
-
Public Health nurse visits
-
Office visits to approved physicians

Services they provide may include:

Helping the family learn about their child’s growth and development

Visiting the family/ or child in the home

Explaining the BCMH program and required paperwork

Helping the family understand their child’s plan of treatment

Helping families fill out forms for BCMH
-
Helping families locate BCMH providers to give service to their
child.
