The Darke County Health Department is required to have a balanced
set of books each year.
Much of the funding comes from sources that include grants, state subsidy, taxation, and fees for services such as well permits, sewage permits, birth/ death certificates, and immunizations. Link to Annual Report Page
Fees are based upon a cost analysis methodology. The fees are reviewed yearly by the Health Commissioner and adjusted appropriately. Link to Fee Page
Vivian Nieport retired from the Health Department in October 2010. She
was the fiscal manager for many years and assisted with other secretarial
duties. She had been with the Health Department from October 1980 through
October 2010.
She was the
Registrar from 1987-2001. She will be missed and best wishes on her retirement.

Jody Hocker became the fiscal manager in September 2010. She prepares the vouchers, payroll, banking, grant reports,
end of the year reports, and monthly reports for the Health Department.
She also assists others during immunization clinics, lunches, and vacations.
She was the Deputy Registrar from May 1999 to June 2007. She returned to the
Health Department part-time in May of 2010 assisting the Nursing Division with
the Help Me Grow program, and now is employed full-time as fiscal manager.
