Below are listings of Septic Installers and Plumbers registered with the Darke County Health Department to do this type of work. You must use either a Registered Septic Installer, Registered Plumber, a Sewer & Water Line Installer, or do the work yourself. If you would like to use someone who is not registered, they must register with the Health Department prior to doing any work. Please have them contact the Health Department for Registration requirements.

The septic tank must be pumped out prior to abandoning. Only septic tank pumpers registered with the Health Department may perform this service. If you wish to perform this work for your own home, you must have prior approval from the Health Department. Below is a listing of Registered Septic Tank Pumpers.
A sewer lateral must be a minimum of 10 feet to any private water well. If your proposed sewer later cannot meet this requirement, you must obtain a variance from the Health Department before proceeding with the work. Please submit a variance request form as soon as possible.
